Higher Patchole Holiday Cottages are set in a secluded hamlet near to Combe Martin and on the border of Exmoor National Park. We are within easy reach of the North Devon coast and 20 minutes drive from Barnstaple. Our 17th century farm sits within four acres of grounds and offers an escape from the stresses and strains of modern day living.
Our Grade II listed barns provide luxury self catering accommodation that has been sympathetically renovated to a high standard. Featuring original beams and stonework set in contrast with contemporary fixtures and fittings, the Threshing and The Shippen have both been modernised but still maintain the charm and character of the original barns.
Patchole is set in the heart of the North Devon countryside, it is well suited for exploring the area and is close to all the diverse activities and attractions that can be found in the greater Exmoor area. There is something for everyone of all ages, from a stroll through the ancient Barnstaple pannier market to building sandcastles or surfing on one of the beautiful nearby beaches. As well as many smaller coves and bays, Croyde and Woolacombe are some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country. We have a local shop half a mile away and our local Pub, The Pyne Arms in nearby Eastdown, is 2 miles. The acclaimed Coach House Restaurant by Michael Caines at Kentisbury Grange is just a few minutes drive away.
